In brief
For consolidation from China to Canada, the rate page lists four combinations: economy sea freight for general goods, economy sea freight for sensitive goods, express air for general goods and express air for sensitive goods. The lowest per-kilogram figure does not tell the whole story: Cainiao first compares actual and volumetric weight, then applies the route’s initial-weight, additional-weight and rounding rules. Our editor compiled this guide on September 4, 2026 from the Canada rate page in the Cainiao App.
Economy sea freight rates
All amounts are in Chinese yuan. The table records the current figures shown in the screenshots and does not treat crossed-out comparison prices as payable rates. Because the page includes sale and reduction markers, these figures should not be treated as permanent prices.
The page notes that when the sensitive-goods route is selected, every parcel in the consolidation—including general, special, battery-containing, food and sensitive goods—is charged at the sensitive-goods service price.

Express air rates
Air freight is charged in 0.5 kg increments. For example, 1.2 kg of chargeable general-goods weight is rounded to 1.5 kg: ¥75 for the first 0.5 kg plus two additional 0.5 kg units at ¥41, or ¥157 using the screenshot rate. Possible surcharges are not included.

How chargeable weight is calculated
The rate page says chargeable weight is the higher of actual weight and volumetric weight. Volumetric weight is: length (cm) × width (cm) × height (cm) ÷ 6000.
A parcel weighing 4 kg with a 50 × 40 × 30 cm carton has a volumetric weight of 10 kg, so it enters the selected route and tier at 10 kg.
- Air: round any partial 0.5 kg up to the next 0.5 kg
- General-goods sea: minimum first weight is 2 kg; additional partial kilograms round up to 1 kg
- Sensitive-goods sea: any partial kilogram rounds up to 1 kg
- Maximum chargeable weight per parcel is 28 kg by air and 64 kg by sea; the system splits heavier shipments
Surcharges and other rules
In the screenshots, the remote, extra-remote and irregular-shape surcharges are crossed out and marked temporarily free. That reflects the promotion shown at that moment, not every postal code, order or future date.
A seller’s free-shipping promise, shipping insurance or delivery estimate normally covers only the trip to the mainland China consolidation warehouse, not cross-border delivery to Canada.
- Storage is free for 90 days after warehouse entry; after that, ¥1 per order per day is listed
- The page says parcels left without feedback or action for more than 120 days are treated as abandoned
- In-warehouse return to the seller is listed at ¥10/kg initial weight and ¥4/kg additional weight
- The routes are marked tax-inclusive; if the current order or clearance instructions differ, follow the live page

Review the order in this sequence before paying for consolidation.
- Confirm Canada as the destination and check whether each item is classified as general or sensitive goods.
- Compare actual and volumetric weight, take the higher figure and apply the route’s rounding unit.
- Enter the final Canadian address and check remote, oversize, irregular-shape or repacking charges.
- Review the route name, chargeable weight, discounts and final amount due.
- Save a screenshot of the checkout page before payment.

If checkout shows a promo-code field, try CANADA. This site found no publicly verifiable official discount terms; rely on the result and final amount shown before payment. Whether a coupon and promo code can be combined depends on the campaign rules and checkout page at that time. If both cannot be selected, follow the discount the system makes available and the amount actually applied.
